Here at Patriot Glove Company, we work tirelessly to provide not only the best performing wood bats in the industry, but the best LOOKING too!  All of our Pro-Maple bats are Bone Rubbed, and painted with the best quality UV paint in the industry.  Our bats are then sprayed with 3 coats of our secret proprietary formula giving you the hardest top coat in the industry.  You will see the large majority of bat manufacturers “dipping” their bats, which is ONLY possible by using an inferior coating which will not hold up to long term use.

We offer “IN STOCK” Pro-Maples from $99.99-$ $129.99 and Custom orders are $139.99.

Why should I swing a wood bat?:  EVERYONE should be swinging wood bats during ALL practice and many in wood bat tournaments.  Composite bats have a limited lifespan.  A certain amount of batted balls, and EVERY “Hot bat” WILL go dead.  Why swing your $600 bat in the batting cage?  Not only this, but a wood bat tells no lies.  BBCOR certification requires that all composite bats produce the same exit velocity as a wood bat, making it EQUIVALENT to a wood bat.  wood bats have a smaller sweet spot, taking your practice to the next level.  Composite bats give the hitter a false sense of success, only diminishing their quality at-bats.  Swinging a wood bat will expose all of your flaws, as the sound and feel will change drastically when not “Barreling up” on a baseball.

MAPLE BATS: Maple is known for its extreme density.  With density, comes power.  Maple is the hardest and most durable of the 3 main woods used for baseball bats.

INK DOT:  Each of our Pro-bats will have a noticeable “Ink Dot” around the 12′ mark of the handle.  This Ink dot is a requirement of MLB baseball to show the slope of the grain, and to not exceed 2.36 degrees out of alignment.

Where do I hit a wood bat?: Our labels are strategically placed to where the batter shall ALWAYS hit a ball with the”label up”.  There is much controversy of if to strike a ball on the end grain, or the face grain.  With ash bats, all labels go on the face grain, meant to strike a ball on the end grain.  As of 2010, MLB changed their recomendation for maple bats to put the label on the end grain, and strike the ball on the face grain.  We disagree with th is recommendation, as we agree with the long standing formula of the strongest part of any wood bat is on the end grain.

What does “Bone Rubbed” Mean?:  Bone Rubbed bats are just what it sounds like.  Some manufacturers may sell it as a big process, but it is actually quite primitive.  Bone rubbing a bat literally means the process of rubbing the bats down with a bone (most use cow femurs) to compress the fibers in the wood, making a much more dense barrel than normal.

SIZES: Our bats are offered in lengths of 29″, 30″, 31″, 32″, 33″, 33.5″ and 34″.

Weight:  Wood bats are typically labeled the same as their compposite counterpart, but are NOT exact weights.  Wood bats may be cut in a “drop 10 (-10) pattern), but due to wood density differences, may not weigh exactly -10 oz.  Here is a list of relative standards weights.

29″ -12 to -10

30″ -10 to -8

31″ -5 to -3

32″-34″ -3 to -2
